It is always within my power to build a bridge...
The Artist. What beautiful souls. What a hard job. As if they lay their lives down to become our steel. To hold us all up. So we can build on them. The keepers of the truth, the ideals. The hope. The promises. They sacrifice their own lives in this 'world' so that you can hear your own soul sing.
Here's to the beautiful broken women who tried...for all of us. Here's to the fragile artist hearts that were so vulnerable they shattered in all directions after trying to withstand the world. Here's to the outsiders who "live on the margins of society" because they can't lie to themselves, or anyone else. Here's to the artists who had the courage to try and fail, who showed up for love and were lied to, who lived in shame...but told the truth anyway. Here is to the artist soul that fights back whenever it can..so that we all may see love reveal itself. Thank you. I'm sorry this world does not support you. It is too hard. It's true.

The construction of the bridge began a month before the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and provided many county residents with employment during the Great Depression.[7] Because of its proximity to the Swan Island Municipal Airport, some government officials wanted the bridge painted yellow with black stripes. County officials waited until St. Patrick's Day 1931 to announce that it would be painted green.[8]
Dedication of the bridge was put off for one month in order to make it the centerpiece of the 23rd annual Rose Festival.[9] It was dedicated on June 13, 1931, and during the ceremony, the bridge engineer, David B. Steinman said:
“A challenge and an opportunity to create a structure of enduring beauty in the God-given wondrous background was offered us when were asked to design the bridge. It is the most beautiful bridge in the world we feel
