Somewhere I Read

BECAUSE AMERICA WAS THE GREATEST IDEA EVER WRITTEN…

Somewhere I Read is an independent media and technology initiative dedicated to restoring truth, elevating culture, and renewing civic life through art, storytelling, aligned technology and service. See our upcoming work.

Sharing and protecting the voices and stories that make us truly American, like those great leaders before us - we stand for equality, moral clarity, empathy, and courage.

"It is from the numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
— Robert F. Kennedy

OUR INSPIRATION

Our work is inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech, I've Been to the Mountaintop, where he returned again and again to a simple, profound refrain: “Somewhere I read…”

In those words, he called America back to its own promises, demanding that the ideals written on paper be lived in practice. That call remains unfinished, and it is ours to carry forward.

All we say to America is,
'Be true to what you said on paper.'

Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech.
Somewhere I read of the freedom of press.
Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right.
— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
